The Wolf Gift, by: Anne Rice
This book was much anticipated do to Anne Rice had not released a book like this in quite some time. I have been a big follower of Anne Rice's every since I was introduced to Interview With A Vampire. I have read all of the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Witches. I am so excited that one of my most favorite authors will be writing for young adults again.
In this great book I got into a lot of trouble because I just could not put it down. I felt that Anne Rice still has the stuff to write what the young want's to read. Like with the Vampire Chronicles she may be ahead of the curve on where people will put their imagination. I love like with the Mayfair Witches she has left it open so that she can bring in other creatures. One part of the book when Reuben talks with the Marrok the oldest of their kind, Marrok talking about how the change comes to pass tells them "when it is given with the deep bite, injecting the Chrism directly into the bloodstream at many points, well, it acts as it did with you, in about seven to fourteen days. The moon has nothing to do with in. Such legends have a different origin and nothing to do with us."
I thought the first part of the book was a little hard to get into, and the chapters were a little long and I had just finished another book so my mind was still on this book.
I feel that every young person who enjoys a good book will truly enjoy this book. It took no time to read this book and as with all Anne Rice's books they stay with you for a long time.
Thank you Anne Rice for Writing that which we all love you for.
